We will end next week (finals) but today is officially the last day of class. You could enter the wikicreation of our class through the homepage, or you can come in through the lens of any number of individual characters who composed the group. All I can tell you is that our group is full of “functional people“!
“…being confused or having vagueness constantly only forces us to do more. We don’t need a teacher or boss telling us what to do, we actually have the skills to take the initiative ourselves.” (moses84)
Peers introduce each other in the comments that follow.

I took at look at Chocolate Milk and Summer22’s individual wiki pages, and I must say I’m impressed! Check them out!

http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Summer22
Both of these pages had some great pictures, and the information about each person was really fun to read. The work about comm 352 as a class was extremely detailed and provided helpful links to anyone looking for more information about the class. I really thought in Summer22’s page it was helpful to have the link to get in touch with the teacher aka steph. Overall I thought this assignment was kind of difficult. I could easily have written a wordpress blog about the important things I learned but to deal with all the creating webpage stuff was difficult. I’m totally not into doing those types of things, but I guess they will be helpful to know in the future. Anyways check these pages out because a lot of time went into their design and the content in them is excellent!

Take a Glance at ashoultz04, a very motivated student who believes that any member of the group is a functional member. She helped create UMASS TRADITIONS, and felt that overall her experience was interesting! check out her user page! <ahref=”http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Ashooltz04″

Buckets34 page is very well put together. I really enjoy how she went step by step and included alot of links to her and stephs weblogs. I also like how she described the class as indescribable…I think that the perfect word for this semester. She did a very good job at defining each stage in her page which helps clear up point of confusion for anyone who reads it.

I like getoutofkingshaus page because he talks alot about himself and his passion with music. You can see his passion in the writing and pictures that he has posted. A specific part in his page I enjoyed was his link to the word “arab” which he chose to speak about. It was a delicate word to tackle and he was not afraid of taking on the task

This blog is really interesting and it gives a unique look into one of our classmates lives. I never knew this information about Alex until I read this and he definitely seems like he has some good plans in his future.

This has been such a long journey for all of us I think. Through the creation of our individual pages on the Umass Wiki site, we are able to not only express ourselves for ourselves, but for our group, classmates, Steph, and those just browsing around.
I got the chance to look at two of my classmates personal pages, which were Febreezy08 and Chocolatemilk. Both of these students gave their insight to their personal lives, and a little bit of how they saw themselves inside the classroom. It was really interesting to read them because I saw myself feeling the same way they did. We really are a group after all!

Georgiapeach’senjoyed and benefited from our class. She links some of the key topics of our class to external information on the web. Good page to visit for a general picture of what it was like.
Akademakid’s page goes into more depth about some of the class activities, as well as describe what was probably the general feeling we all felt the first time we experienced Steph’s brand of teaching.

I just checked out Thumpasorus’s page. I enjoy the lay out. Photos to break up and liven up his page and good use of different headings to organize the page nicely. I have no idea what he wrote about, but it sure looked good.

my favorite aspect of AP1115’s wiki page is his reasoning for group confusion and anxiety and how it lead to a really succesfull outcome, we were able to function as a group on many levels and this wouldn’t have happened had we felt comfortable all the time: “I started to think around the end of the class that there was a BIG reason why were kept in the dark on grading criteria and what the final project had to be about. It created confusion and in turn made us rely on each other to get through the class. If we had had a very clear syllabus at the beginning of class, and everything was laid out just like it was in our “normal” classes, where would the anxiety come from? Without anxiety we wouldn’t have had the heated discussions about what the wiki was about.

Thump’s page was organized really well. I appreciate how she goes from week to week and provides images of the board. Thumpasorous

Akademakid is an athlete on the UMass baseball team and was able to learn a lot from our Group Dynamics class. While he at first did not think he would understand what was going on in the class, he began to realize that he was actually learning something. You can read about his experience with the class at Akademakid’s User Page. Vertebralsilence is very interested in art and knowledge and joined the class late. She had no idea what was going on in the class and felt like she was often oversteppin her boundaries. But she was very well-spoken. You can see her thoughts at Vertebralsilence’s User Page.

I think that Bradytomoss had a great page. His first picture was fun and gave a little backgroud about himself just by looking at it. I think he covered the aspects of the course which many others, including myself did: the confusion, individual groups, and overall growth in group dynamic strategies. I enjoyed looking at his page and I think that others will definitely learn a lot about what our class went through in his page. Check his out: http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Brady_to_Moss

This is Mike Walsh. Hello all. Hope I threw everyone off with my princess user name. Anywhoo, I got 2 wiki pages to look at:
Buckets34
http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Buckets34
Dtheriau
http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Dtheriau
These are the web pages of Kat and Dan
Kat starts off her wiki page with a nice picture of herself and her roommates at a football game. She immediately goes into her individual journey through the group of com 352. With many bold captions and a total of 15 links, Kat made the most out of her personal page. She was apart of the night life team and the link to her teams work shows amazing photos and captions of some of the best venues in Amherst.
Dans page opens with a very funny picture of himself, a cigar, and a 50 dollar bill. Oh the possibilities. With 9 links and an nice array of photos, Dans page is a pleasure to look at. Dan was involved in the music group. At the end of the semester Dan’s group put on a musical performance for the class at the fine arts center. After a class vote in the lab saying this would conclude the semester, the performance was music to everyones ears.

Rwhite’s picture on her Umasswiki user page says it all. She is feisty. But that doesn’t mean she didn’t do good work. Read about it here.
Buckets34’s picture also says a lot about her role in this class. She had a lot of enthusiasm, as is apparent in her user page

Georgiapeach had made a page for herself as an important part of group dynamics. A Look at her page lets us know just how she became more assertive and self confident through the semester!

I was supposed to write about sedona as well but they do not seem to be up on the wiki. I’m sure that they will do a great job and really work hard for that A! I also think they will most likely cover the same highlights of our class that most of the other students did. I will read it in the future and I’m sure all the other’s who read our page will as well! Gooood luck sedona and if your interested in seeing his too look for it at this page!

Walshyo5’s individual page is full with personal experiences, both from this class and outside of class. I learned just how big of a Red Sox fan he is and how he loves sports broadcasting. Walshy also wrote alot about the class and the confusion and frustration he and the entire class felt at the time. I feel he did a really good job with the page and definately has a huge personal touch which is nice.
Lovewell’s personal page is also filled with a lot of personal stuff, the use of color also made her page stick out. Lovewell goes from talking about the begining of class and how she was worried about missing the first class due to weather to the end of the class and her group participation. I thought it was interesting how she enjoyed the day when only a few kinds where in class because it was “smaller and more intimate”. It seems everyone that was in class that day enjoyed it.

Introducing…
Abccccc http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Abccccc

Funinsun
http://www.umasswiki.com/wiki/User:Funinsun
Each of these individuals provide a peek at their personally unique experience surviving Group Dynamics. Funinsun writes: “When i first stepped foot in class the first day of the semester, I realized that Comm 352 would be a class unlike any other that I had enrolled in thus far.” She deserves props for staying despite knowing what she was getting herself into early on.
Despite the intesity and confusion, Abc makes a good point: ” I have to say that this class is intense but things we learn are practical for us in real life.” To see some pictures and learn more about these individuals and their Comm352 experience…visit their sites!

Hello Arachnid!
I’m glad you liked the blog, even if its meaningfulness is elusive.
You offer an opportunity for me to (try to) articulate “the point” as I see/saw it . . . just came across your comment needing approval and will think on this for a bit before returning.

Arachnid – are you still around?
I have been thinking about your question . . . and, I’ve likewise been considering a team project for the next batch of students. Originally, I had conceived of the Group Dynamics course wiki site as a space for study, and this idea has not left me.
How to structure engagement with it, though, as a resource to be studied . . . this has been tough! However, as the current class (Interpersonal Communication) unfolds, I am becoming inspired. Recently, one student wrote of a Venn diagram of communication, and another about the building blocks of communication. These are metaphors – not developed theory, however these metaphors have arisen because of theory: I want to say, not necessarily causal, but I’m still not clear how to discuss the constitutionality of language when I’m “in” the evidence of constitution! Anyway, the point is (ha), I am going to ask my students to explain “the point” (or any point of their choosing) of the Group Dynamics course wiki.
I’m sure whatever they produce will be intriguing – whether or not they provide a definite answer!
